About SGA

From passion to recognition – now we are taking Sweden’s game culture to a new level.

Sweden needs a game gala worthy of its name. We have Guldbaggen for film. We have Grammisgalan for music. Now it is time for the games industry to take its rightful place on the cultural stage – with a national gala that celebrates, highlights and exports Swedish game design to the world.

Swedish Game Awards has for a long time been an important platform for new talents. Now we are taking it further. On February 18, 2026, the gala will be transformed into a new, grand initiative: an annual, official game gala for the entire industry – with a focus on culture, innovation, export and pride.

SGA New Edition

A New National Celebration for Sweden’s Game Culture
Swedish Game Awards – New Edition is Sweden’s new national gala for game culture, creators, and innovation. On February 18, 2026, the industry gathers at Berns to celebrate the best games of 2025 — honoring the teams, storytellers and pioneers who shape one of Sweden’s strongest cultural exports.

A New Era for Swedish Game Awards
For more than two decades, SGA has highlighted new and emerging talent. Now, the platform expands.

The New Edition becomes an annual, official industry gala — elevating games to the same cultural stage as film, music and performing arts. Sweden’s game creators reach millions around the world. Now they get the spotlight they deserve at home.

The Cultural Impact of Swedish Games
Swedish games influence global audiences, create communities and push artistic and technological boundaries. SGA – New Edition recognizes games as culture — and celebrates the people who make it.
